After detaching himself from the industrial fashion world, Gaultier has concentrated his artistry in the haute-couture universe; a creative safe-haven where the designer uses an absolutely free and wonderful syntax to express his language of suggestions and references.
Unless otherwise, the breton vernacular language will disappear, snatching away one of this community’s most precious values.
As so, the other elements will be defyied, such as the ethnic and cultural identity, that reflects the fascinating human being’s diversity and creates unique images that honour the region of brittany, such as the gazelle fur attire, the carved combs, or the bigouden.
Gaultier understands identity as a matter of stripes and illustrious eccentricity. His f/w 2015 collection starts with traditional references, which are merged to padded leather skirts, satin and velvet , powerful contrasting colours, tulle tunics with fern embroidery, exquisite ethnic prints…and the final touch to his inexhaustible wit: like if it had come out of a south african fable, a bride waits for her moment come. She stands gracious and honourable, like an antelope wearing a master-piece made with tanned leather and carved and decorated with swarovski crystals.
